In this class you will not only be breaking down scenes and characters but also learning your strengths and weaknesses from the over all aspect of your performance’s. This is a class where an actor can work on an incorporation of ones abilities in a fluid environment. Often we will assign scenes with actors from different level classes for both perspective and remembrance. A class for both assessment and maintenance an over all staple in an actors toolkit.
THE SCENE STUDY CLASS GIVES THE ACTOR FULL FREEDOM. BY WORKING ON MULTIPLE CHARACTERS THROUGH THE
ACTOR’S PERIOD OF INTENSE STUDY, THE ACTOR LEARNS HOW TO CONTINIOUSLY CREATE A CHARACTER AND BRING THAT CHARACTER TO LIFE. THE ACTOR LEARNS THE IMPORTANCE OF OBJECTIVE, SILENCE AND UNDERLYING NEED IN EACH CHARACTER. AS THE ACTOR PROGRESSES, HE OR SHE MOVES THROUGH THE DIFFERENT LEVELS OF TAP AND GROWS TO BE THE ARTIST THEY WANT AND NEED TO BECOME IN THE CHALLENGING WORLD OF THE WORKING ARTIST. OUR GOAL AT TAP IS TO CREATE ACTORS WHO EXCEL IN THE “REAL WORLD”
OF THE WORKING PERFORMER.
There are 3 levels of this Class

The Master Class is a class for advanced students only. It’s a combination of workshop exercise’s, scene study and guided personal development. It delves into the inner core of your craft. 6-week intensives cover a variety of subjects and allow an actor to get a base feeling of where they are and what technique they will adopt; it can also be a refresher for those who just want to get back into class. You will be working with multiple teachers covering multiple subjects.
THE SIX WEEK INTENSIVE IS CREATED TOWARD TEACHING THE ACTOR TO BUILD A CHARACTER FROM THE SCRIPT TO THE PERFORMANCE. EACH STEP IS TO TEACH THE ACTOR HOW TO INCORPORATE THAT CHARACTER IN A PIECE, BE IT FILM OR TELEVISION.
It moves fast and covers a lot, a good starting point for those just finishing the first scene study round. Its multiple days a week.
2-day intensives that cover two or three subjects in depth. These are usually listed at the beginning of the month and you can choose the one you are interested in.
THE TWO DAY INTENSIVE GIVES THE ACTOR SKILLS TO ENHANCE THEIR PERFORMANCES. THE ABILITY IT GIVES THE ACTOR A SENSE OF STRENGTH AND A SENSE OF SELF.
One-day intensives are usually on one subject with a secondary objective subject. They are meant to concentrate on one specific aspect of your acting you want to improve.
We hold intensives on a regular basis*
